Does anyone else think this is as funny as I do?
I don't know what brought this to mind, but I just remembered something that happened years ago.....My father was a Newfoundlander and was born and raised in a coastal town where ships of the world often stopped...His sister met an American who was a sailor on one of the ships and to make a long story short, she married him and moved to Boston. They raised a family and so far as I know, this family is still in that area....My dad died when I was quite young, my mom remarried and we lost all contact with my dad's family....Anyhow, years ago, as a teenager, I decided I would like to get in touch with this Boston aunt...I got her last known address from my mom and wrote her a letter....To my surprise she answered and was happy to hear from me, asking me to keep writing and to come and see her if possible...For some reason, I never wrote again and forgot all about it....I later learned that a couple of years later, one of my sisters did the same thing, with the same results....My sister also didn't follow up on it!.....And believe-it-or-not we discovered that my brother did it too!....One time when my family was all together we learned what the three of us had done and we all had a big laugh about it.....I have often wondered what kind of nuts my aunt must have thought we were!...:D

1. Funny? no
My guess is the three of you caused some major disappointment for your aunt.

5. Years later I tried the address but she no longer was there....
Possibly she had died by then...She certainly would be by now anyway!

6. I think it is very modern and sad.
Is she still alive? Unless you want to spend
a few extra days in purgatory or worse, you
should all go visit her immediately if she is
alive, or else visit her grave, if she is dead.

10. Oh you think purgatory is funny do you youngster?
You kids with your funny sense of humor are
in for a rude awaking one of these days. You
will not be laughing so loud when you are
getting a cosmic fullbody hotfoot for the little
jokes you pulled on poor old helpless people.
Laugh now, pay later.

14. Perhaps a public atonement would help.
You and your fellow cruel siblings might
write your poor dear aunt a note of regret
and pin it to the bulletin board in your village?
