Poll question: Where Do You Usually Eat Dinner?
The last time we ate dinner in the dining room was on Christmas day. Most of our meals are on lap-trays in the den while watching TV.

June Cleaver and Harriet Nelson would faint if they knew.

1. the dining room table is covered with my son's legos
can't eat there since Hogwarts castle has taken up residence. We did clear it off for holiday dinners though.

2. The "Great Hall"
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 04:04 PM by Lizz612
Code for cafeteria. Sure they got wooden chairs and tables but there are lunch trays and steam tables for the trays of food, and a couple dozen of us in there at all hours. Its a cafeteria. x(

4. in the breakfast nook. We have a dining room, but it is a waste of space.
Wish I could think of something else to do with it, but we have people over to dinner a few times a year and use that space then. So wasteful!

18. We usually eat ours in front of the computer
Our duplex does not have a dining room so we have our table in the kitchen, but our kitchen is not all that big. There is barely room for the table in its round condensed form and we usually use it as a counter since we don't have a lot of counter space either.. Come to think of it we ate at the kitchen table once right after we moved in. Other than that usually at the computer or in front of the television. If we actually had a dining room like we did at our last place, it would be different.

10. Bedroom.
On trays watching TV.
Not sure how we got started on this. Maybe after we became empty nesters.
Been doing it for years.
King-size bed.
Very relaxing.

16. naw.
That's why we use trays on TOP of the spread/quilt/comforter.
Crumbs don't get in the sheets.
Hey! I'm NEAT!

Now...On TOP of the s/q/c is crumbs, dog hair, cat hair, 2 TV remotes, hairpins (not MINE), scrunchies (not MINE), and god knows what else.

19. Well Duh! <Slaps Forehead> I Think I'll Try That Too
That way you can just flip the bedspread/comforter back and toss the whole mess onto the floor for the carpet mites to clean up... or for the ants to carry away.

What are "Scrunchies"... is it like "Bugles" or "Funyuns" or Andy Capp's "Hot Fries"?

11. Do you eat "dinner"? Or "supper"?
I think they're interchangeable with us.
But Sunday lunch is ALWAYS "dinner".

20. "Supper Time. I Should Set the Table..."
'Cause it's supper time
Somehow I'm not able
'Cause that man o'mine
Ain't comin' home no more

Supper time
Kids will soon be yellin'
For their supper time
How'll I keep from tellin'
Them that man o'mine
Ain't comin' home no more?

How'll I keep explainin' when they ask me where he's gone?
How'll I keep from cryin' when I bring their supper on?
How can I remind them to pray at their humble board?
How can I be thankful when they start to thank the Lord
Lord!

Supper time
I should set the table
'Cause it's supper time
Somehow I'm not able
'Cause that man o'mine
Ain't comin' home no more

--Irving Berlin

(I have dinner instead--in my living room. I don't want that Faulknerian drama!)

12. I'm going to school, so we usually eat in the Caf or The Grill...
The caf is of course, the school cafeteria, where the food is actually pretty good...and then there's The Grill where you can get burgers, mexican fair, Chicken Strips, or italian stuff like fake calzones(They put sauce inside the pastry. That's just WRONG) or pizza. Also offered is an array of salads and some cheesecake stuff. Anyway, we get burned out on it about halfway through the semester and start going out to eat, like we are tonight to a place called BENCHWARMERS, a sports bar and grill where I'm actually going to drink a beer. I never do that.
