Question (especially for any Canadians on here)
I'm from Toronto, and I'm looking at universities right now (I've got time, though), and I think I want to go somewhere on the east coast. My top two picks are Dalhousie in Halifax, and St. Thomas, in Fredericton, NB.

Does anyone know a lot about these cities? Has anyone lived there? Or went to either university?

St. Thomas, especially, looks wicked cool, but I'm not sure I would want to go to a University with 3,000 people, in a town with only 80,000 (too much culture shock?) It could be a good experience, though.

1. Halifax is a great city to go to University in. It is big enough to have all
the amenities plus it has 4 or 5 universities in it so it is a great university city - and caters to students. Dalhousie is a few minutes walk from the downtown area. The bars are great. Hallowe'en amazing (or it was 20 years ago when I went). You get students from all across the country at Dal. I think it gets good grades. I think St. Thomas is usually last on the list in the annual Maclean's list of Universities.

Go to Dal! I liked it very much when I met and made some friends.

2. I'm planning to apply to Dalhousie for my masters (among some other places).
I have a bunch of friends in Halifax, some of whom go to Dal, and they say it is great.

I go to MUN here in St. John's right now, it's a pretty decent school and city too.
