ANY reason why one has to scrape one's teeth on a fork when eating?
I find people, especially the younger generation, do this a lot!! Uh, nobody wants to hear that?

it's like nails on a chalkboard. I just don't see how hard it is for people to eat normally. :)

1. I have to cop to doing that
I don't know why I do, I don't mean to. Drives my sister bonkers as she cannot stand the sound of metal scraping against anything. Isn't it peculiar how some noises are really offensive to some people and other people don't even notice them?

2. I just don't see a reason for it.
I'm just sensitive to some sounds.......also when other people whistle it bugs me. I don't know, high pitched sounds. :(

4. As I just mentioned in another eating etiquette thread, it's because people were trained to eat
like animals, not human beings.

Scraping teeth with silverware; wearing hats in restaurants; chewing with mouth open; chewing gum when more than 0 people are around; and a whole fucking host of other sub-human eating behavior that make pigs look like fucking Ms. Manners in comparison.

"Acting like self-absorbed filth around whom the universe revolves" is this century's "polite"

5. LOL..........okay, I guess I got my answer.
I had such a bad day today at work and was sitting down to eat on my 1/2 hour break.
Gal there ALWAYS scrapes her fork. Literally have to leave. :(

I'm glad the day is almost over. :)

9. It's weird because I don't even notice it
as far as I know I've always eaten like that. I wasn't aware it was considered rude. I *thought* I had good table manners. So the proper thing to do is withdraw the fork and use your lips to remove the food from the fork? Maybe I need a session with Ms Manners or something.

10. at least you are aware.........
and everybody could improve their table manners. :) including yours truly.

Just lift the food off the fork, don't bite down. ;)

11. Not sure wearing hats is subhuman.
I have never seen anyone but humans wear hats while they eat.
