Jambalaya with sausage and shrimp...I really love it when that happens. :) What're you all having to eat tonight?

19. I could try to make it to NJ.
I've always wanted to attend a meetup but the Maine crowd is sparse and spread out and also, I think, not overly motivated. Hope you had an excellent evening! :pals:

8. I'm doing pretty well.
I've kept myself very busy. Henry has the flu so I've tended to him, done a load of baking and cleaning. The Christmas tree is down and I am showered!

Dude, I'll take the burgers. I LOVE burgers. Say hi to the Mattman for me, or at least give him a hug since he has no idea who I am. :hi:

9. Me too. I am frankly loathe to let the young man use my
precious shrimp, but since he's making my dinner I can't reasonably object. :D

14. What does shrimp taste like?
I have never had it.. Same thing with lobster. I have heard they are good but I have never eaten them.

20. Wow.
Have you had scallops? They both have something in common with scallops, though with different textures. I would live on lobster if I could afford it. Also, if I could stand to cook them... it breaks my heart.

I have family members who dislike both shrimp and lobster but you oughta try shrimp, at least, just so you know. :hi:

5. My sister is making Manicotti..
So I will sit outside until everyone leaves the kitchen and then I will go inside to steal some. I'm a sneaky bastard. And it is fun to do dorky shit.

10. Manicotti. I'd steal that.
For some reason it makes me think of stuffed vine leaves. Maybe tomorrow. Hi, Omphalo!

7. I'm waiting for Mr MB to get home and cook me dinner...
I believe it is pasta with a meat sauce I made and stuck in the freezer...

Simple, but at leaast it is all homecooked.

Plus, we are having a big cooking weekend (middle eastern food tomorrow and a 22lb turkey on Sunday), so tonight we are taking it easy.

Enjoy your jambalaya. It sounds delish.
:hi:

mujadarra which is a lebanese lentil and rice dish; homemade hummus; greek yoghurt; salads; baklava; a turkish lamb stew that my neighbor taught me to make.

A hard day ahead....

16. Meat loaf, baked potato, lima beans
It's COLD...so it's a comfort food night. I defrosted the meat loaf last night and just popped it and the potato in the oven when I got home from work. Easy and yummy.
