RANT: Who invented this horror house of mirrors of a job market?
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 04:41 PM by supernova
Don't answer that. I know; everyone at DU knows.

It's very frustrating to move on with my professional life when I keep getting called to apply for my old job!

The good news is, if I get it back, I could get a substantial raise for essentially sitting on my ass for a year.

:P

1. Some might blame Lee Mercer Jr.
I however think the root of it is Jeb.

2. Hey, we're going to go into business together, remember?
I was going to write the code and you were going to do the technical authoring. :D

Trust me. I keep thinking about it.

It seems like the only way to get to work the way I know I can do a job best is to make my own. And think having a shop where programming + docs works together would be an improvement over the current model of programming first, docs later (if at all, just to CYA)

Hee. I've never seen trans-Atlantic small business though, have you? :D

3. Exactly.
I've applied for my old job as well. It comes with more than a $15k/year raise. Of course, I haven't worked there for a few years.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Are companies really that nuts that they want to fire people one day then, months later, be willing to hire them back for much more $$$?!?
