You know, right across from his house or church. With big signs that tell him he is going to hell and how we pray for him to be investigated by the IRS?

1. Why bother?

Just wait for his passing, when hundreds, possibly thousands of Westboro Baptist Church members start telling their stories of innocence lost, of long nights in seedy motel rooms en route to protesting soldiers' funerals. As often as we say that those who are the most vocal opponents of sexual acts they believe to be deviant are usually the biggest offenders of their own definitions of deviance (Rep. Foley, anybody?), I am certain that living to see Phelps's skeletons pulled out of the closet, pun intended, will be the best revenge.

can he find ways to make people stop protesting. In other words can he find his own weakness.

4. There aren't thousands -or even hundreds- of Westboro church members....

They are mostly members of Fred's own extended famliy: children, grandchildren, children's spouses, and a VERY small number of non-family members. Some of his adult children have broken off contact with the family out of pure shame. WCB is not a megachurch; its barely a mini-church. Wikipedia has a pretty good history of this bunch.
