Nashville Skyline
Just in case you've always wondered what it looked like . . .

1. trying to see where you were
I see the batman bldg and the L&C Tower behind it... the banks on church st. and the performing arts center... I haven't lived there in so long.

so, you're south of downtown, looking at Broadway where it ends by 2nd Street... on a bridge across the cumberland river? are you on the Shelby Street Bridge?

5. do I win a prize?
:)

do you live there? (how did you know it was the Shelby Street bridge, if not)

when I was a teenager, my friends and I used to go to the grand ole gospel, which was right after the Grand Ole Opry, in the Ryman, and watch people speak in tongues (and we'd sing along) and then walk around the Greyhound Station to look at the derelicts. don't ask me why... actually, I know. It was free. It wasn't our lives. The city has changed so much since then it's nearly unrecognizable. I like the proportions of the bldgs in the warehouse district on 2nd Street much more than the Batman bldg. and all that. when I was in elementary school, my friends and I used to take the bus downtown on Saturdays (by ourselves, yes. strange to imagine now..) and go to the L&C tower, up to the observatory. We'd try to make sure we were the only ones on the floor and then call for the elevator. It was important that no one else get on on at other floors, too, because we would jump up into the air and try to be weightless for a moment. We'd do this again and again until we were bored. Then we'd go eat lunch.

7. I was visiting last weekend. There's a big sign on it identifying it
The prize you win is the knowledge that you're pretty smart, but you probably already knew that already

8. It's my hometown
...it's like looking at the face of someone you knew long ago. I have clearer memories of moments when I was a kid than I do of things that happened ten years ago.. but I also hadn't been so gobsmacked by life yet then, either.

3. Is that a good thing?
i'm so used to weeds and cactus that I barely remember what buildings are, much less why anyone would want to be there.

4. Different strokes for different folks
The world would be a rather boring place if everyone had the same tastes. I enjoy being out in the wilderness but I also enjoy being around people and the things that they create.
