Well, I use the fairly normal... "Butta Bunz" except that when I say, "butta", I'm referring to cocoa butter and the very occasional, but playful, "ASSHOYLE!!!" when he is being snarky.

He uses the slightly more exotic, sticky sweet, & spicy... "My Little Chutney Pot" and he teases me when I'm 'layin' down the law' with the kids by calling me "Momzilla"... as in, "Run, RUN it's MomZILLA, AAAAAAAAH!!!".

36. Lao Wai - long story behind it

It's Chinese for foreigner/outsider, and it's what most Chinese use when talking about non-Chinese.

After our daughter was born, my wife's mom came here from China to help us out for a year. So, they were always talking about (complaining) about "lao wai" - which usually meant Americans. So, one time I piped up and said, "Hey, in this country you're lao wai."

And, I started calling my wife "lao wai" after that, and it stuck. It's actually pretty helpful when looking for her in a crowded mall or something - I can just yell out "lao wai" and she'll know it's me. Of course, it got a lot of strange looks when I called it out in China.

Typically, Chinese wives call their husbands "Lao gong" and husbands call their wives "Lao po" which translates to "old man" and "old woman"

Anyway... 'Sugar booger' 'booger bat' 'sugar bee' and a few other similar combinations are the most common. Kind of embarrassed to admit that a little.... I can't think of any more off the top of my head, at least none that won't get the thread locked.

Sometimes we say S.O. as "Significant So-and-so" just to be silly.

those are most common. I hate being called baby or stinky and have asked her not to use those terms. If I'm annoyed I'll call her woman or girlfriend, but if I'm happy I call her beautiful or sweetie or honey.

She's aggressive when driving, and other activities :evilgrin: , and she was born in the year of the dragon so I call her dragon or little dragon sometimes when she's acting like that.

She hates it if I call her "sexy mama" or anything maternal.

It's my most recent naming convention. I named my new Linux system "computerimus." We have a cat named Kitimus. The other cat is named Squeaky Thing™, but he gets called Squeakimus a lot (that and El Rei Del Sqeakadors).

Another natural morphology seems to be adding "ness" to the end yielding Sweetimusness, Kitimusness, etc.
