born in '63 (Coincidence?) Great music. Great people. The Beatles started out like any other talented group, except that they got the record industry backing and hype, that so many other artists don't get. The Beatles took that same music industry and turned it upside down when they started their own production company and retained all of the rights to their music, which was unheard of at that time. United Artists had done something similar for the motion picture industry previously, and it would take people like Oprah Winfrey, David Letterman, and Gerry Seinfeld to do the same for the television industry. The Beatles also served as an inspiration for a whole generation of Americans, who helped make this a better country back in the 1960's and 70's. And there was the music too. They started out as commercial pop artists and grew into extremly talented, fiercely independent artists. I just love that band! Watch "The Compleat Beatles" for the best concert documentary I have every seen about the band.
