1. I don't know what to say, I have the same problem
I really like button fly jeans, and levi's 501s are about it as far as I've found. There are some US made jeans. If you're not as picky as I am, there are websites like madeinusa.org that will give you links ot places that make jeans and other clothes in the US.

4. It's a myth that pants are required
Shirt and shoes? Yes. But the sign says nothing about pants. Bring a lawyer with you.

5. I required pants.
But then I acquired pants, and it was okay.

I had to shop at that store-that-shall-not-be-named... Old Navy. But that's just because they're the only place that carries jeans that actually FIT me properly.

6. Many stores around me say pants-less is OK
"Shirt and Shoes Required" - but nothing about pants.

7. I finally found some that fit me, but I'm fat.
Lane Bryant's new jeans system thing totally works. Pricey, but I only need one or two pairs of jeans at a time and so save up in the family budget for them. The new Lee's Woman jeans fit nicely, too, with a comfort waist band I like.

A great, great place to try on and find good jeans is Nordstrom Rack. It's a real outlet, not a fake on that has only the outlet brands and no real sales. They often have super-expensive jeans for cheap and all sizes and shapes. It's worth a trip.

8. I buy nearly all my clothes secondhand.
So, some were made in hell, but I won't be sending money to the people responsible for their manufacture.

11. Cool. I wish there was a good secondhand-clothes store around here.
I remember this really cool thriftstore called the Garment District that I went to when I was on vacation in Cambridge. I got some vintage t-shirts there.

Here in Massachusetts, we've got the Salvation Army, Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul and numbers of other smaller thrifts. Where are you?

I like to buy "used jeans" because they have already been laundered by the previous owner, if they were going to shrink, they have already done so. I pick only those in good condition.

I try them on over my slax. If they fit over slax they will fit under. Check for condition of zippers etc. Home to the old washing machine. Look like new--to anyone but me.

17. You probably have Goodwill and St Vinnie's.
Most communities have one or the other of these, or both. Actually, we don't have either one in our town, but the local hospital auxiliary runs a great thrift store, and so does the homeless shelter. The shelter accepts donations for its clients, and what they don't take or can't use is placed in their thrift shop. We also have two private consignment shops, too.

13. I have two of them, they're great!
I even have a pair of smiley-faced briefs for those curious enough to wonder what I have on under them.
