How to piss off your right-wing boss

So my boss is a big fan of O'Reilly. I printed out the AP story on O'Reilly appearing on GMA and criticizing the Mal-administration and apologizing for being so wrong about Saddam's WMDs (funny, I thought hell freezing over would make a much louder noise). I underlined a few key phrases and left it on the boss' desk for him to find later.

Several hours later came an apopleptic roar: "Who put this propaganda on my desk?!?!?!" Knowing the likely culprit was me, he came charging into my office in high dudgeon. "YOU!!!"

He launched into a masterful performance about how O'Reilly is often very critical of Bush which quickly devolved into a comparison of O'Reilly to Hannity and thence to a spastic defence of all things Bush which was truly amusing in its desperation.

He is particularly enraged by the questions about AWOL's TANG records and by Kerry's constant proclamations of being a decorated war-vet. Realizing that I was dealing with a crazy person, to whom facts and reason mean nothing, I merely smiled and said, "Good. Get used to being pissed off. Because these things aren't going away."

Very amusing little exercise. I very definitely touched several nerves. (We all believe the boss will have a heart attack or stroke someday soon with such a bad temper.) I believe I'll have to administer therapy to my boss, in the form of daily articles about how bad his preznit really is. I'm just doing my part for the betterment of others. Always glad to help. :evilgrin:

6. These people have been in denial for so long.

No wonder they are angry right now over the avalanche of honest information being revealed finally.

They can claim it was all discussed in the 2000 campaign, but frankly, our population was under the influence of peace and prosperity (Thank you, Big Dog!) and didn't give a rat's ass about anyone's military service record, especially a candidate who campaigned on "No nations building!", etc.

Now the info is out there and people are focusing on it because it is becoming relevant. 'Bout time.

Remember to duck, and try not to get the boss too pissed off if he is the one responsible for determining your raise or employment status. Do you think a little sympathy might buy you some good feelings?

I'm indispensable, and he's not. Hehe. I can say pretty much anything, provided I'm ready for him to be in my face. I like to push a button casually and sit back and watch the show. I'm such a stinkah, as Bugs would say.

I think for tomorrow I'll print out that graph showing that viewers of Fox News are much more likely to believe outright falsehoods.

Funny thing is, the boss is much more reasonable than some of his wing-nut friends - like the one who told me bluntly that anti-war protesters should be shot. (Almost had a brawl over that one.)

Popular conservative television news anchor Bill O'Reilly, usually an outspoken Bush loyalist, said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
