My cat just closed a bedroom window
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 08:23 PM by LynneSin
I'm on the phone with Ramsey and my cat is making quite the ruckus (probably because I'm not paying attention to him). I heard all this noise in the bedroom that sounded like it was coming from the one bedroom window. It's the window furthest from my bed in the bedroom but it's always opened because my apartment gets too hot sometimes.

HE CLOSED THE DAMN WINDOW. He somehow managed to push down the window and closed it almost all the way.

Damn if that cat isn't smart.

Edit note: He normally sleeps on my window sills when I'm not around. They are big enough for a cat to rest on them without one of those cat boards you can buy for window sills.

1. Why did he want it closed?
I think our cat likes it when we open the window. But if a homeless cat comes by, she will practically tear through the screen trying to attack it. (this is one reason we believe our cat is, sadly, republican)

4. Another theroy.
By placing her paws on the open window (possibly to paw at birds or butterflies) she caused the window to lower. The only way to know for sure is to rig a video camera because cats rarely reveal the secrets to their amazing tricks.

Speaking of smart cats... my wife's cat from her childhood would place her paw in your bowl of cereal. Then hold the paw there until you looked down and saw it. Once she knew you saw the paw in the cereal she would slowly remove the paw. Then, she would meow as you went to dispose of the "ruined" cereal/milk so you would give it to her.

7. My dog used to open the refrigerator.

We used to hang a hand towel in the door handle, and he'd use it to open the door and look at the stuff inside. To his credit, he never 'helped himself', but it was funny to watch him standing there just looking at the contents like it was 'doggy TV'. :P

8. My Blue-Point Siamese can open the bathroom door...
Every once in a while I close the cat in the bathroom to try to keep him out of some project I'm involved in. He kept getting out & I couldn't figure out how.

One day was taking a shower & he got closed in with me. I heard him yelling & peeked out from behind the shower curtain. He was perched on the sink with his front paws on the door handle. I watched as he let his behind slide off the sink, turning the knob as he hung on it.

The little shit!
