I'm thinking it is, but don't know enough.

1. Yeah...he's been in about 4 years, right?
Sounds about right. He should be regular Lt. pretty soon, though, I'd think.

2. He did ROTC
Then became active. Maybe he has been active for four or five years now that I think about it.

Thanks, I was wondering and don't know where to look these things up.

3. It's equivalent to 1st Lt. in the other branches...
Ensign, Lt (JG), Lt, Lt. Cmdr, Cmdr (I think...)

Most people that are not idiots and complete the most basic parts of their job while officers can get to be Capt. (or Lt. in this case) in a few years. It is worth noting that Shrubbie washed out as a 1stLT. ;-)

4. No that is just one step up
from ensign which is the rank one comes out of the acadamy with. If this person has four years of service they should have a higher rank than that.

6. There is a person I know who brags a lot about her kid, I was wondering
if there was anything to it. After I thought about it I realized he must be 27 or 28. When he was young he was really bright, it is surprising that his military career hasn't taken off. I guess you never can tell about those things.

9. Depends
on when he was commissioned. 27 or 28 is also within the "norms" for a LTJG.

7. Considering that I was a minium-wage retail clerk when I was 26...
I'd say it was all right.

8. Absolutely!
If he was commissioned at 23 or 24, which many officers are, LTJG is right where he should be. And actually, one can be a LTJG much older, if one was enlisted before earning a commission.
