Do NOT go to Office Max!
I had a flyer, frm the local Office Max store, they were advertizing an Olympus digital camera, less than half off.

I just got back from the store, I asked to see the camera they were advertizing.

They said they were out of them, and the sales dork tried selling me on a far more expensive digital camera.

After his spiel, I left, and contacted our local and state DA's, telling them about this "bait and switch," which is illegal!

So don't go to Office Max.

1. But what if they really were out?
We don't have an Office Max anyway. Just Office Depot.

4. The flyer was from Sunday.
The stock of these cameras does not get sold out in 2 days.

Besides, the sales dork's attitude, "You'll want this one more..." (paraphrasing,) sent up major red flags.

3. Get a rain-check
Not sure if it is the answer law to bait and switch, but usually stores offer it.

:hi:

11. The ad I got clearly stated
while supplies last.

At the very least, he should have called around to other Office Max locations to see if anybody close had any left.

Was it the Olympus FE 210 for $69.00 ? 7 mp?

I might call ours here and see if they have any left, just to see if they really had sufficient stock, or if this was just a ploy to get people into the store and try a bait and switch.

8. Go to Office Max
I have gotten great deals on 2 laser printers, USB flash drives, and a hands-free headset from the weekly flyers online. Oh yes, those things were in stock.

Chillax, maybe they really were out at that store.

9. I got that ad in my Email this morning !
The second I saw the line that said "While supplies last", I knew it wouldnt be worth the drive.

I am looking for a good but inexpensive camera for my son.

10. at half off, you think it lasts a long time?

12. I just called the local store
they have one left at their location.

However she did tell me that it would be very likely to get one with an online order.

16. I'm buying a Polaroid one, very similar, at Walgreens, on Friday.
$10 more, but none of this "You'll want this (more expensive one) more" bullshit.

19. Don't buy a Polaroid.
The cord that goes from the camera to the computer will not stay in the camera and I can't transfer the photos. I have e-mailed Polaroid twice this month for a replacement and they have yet to reply. So, I would assume they don't seem to care about existing customers.

17. I shop at Office Depot. They're "blue" and advertise on...
Air America. Luckily, I also like the store better than Office Max.

20. If the sale was good enough, they absolutely could have run out in two days.
Hell, they could have run out the day the sale started. I've worked in retail for years, and it bugs the hell out of me when people think we can just go in the back and poop out the item they want.
