Apparently, one of the subdivisions near me has a 'swingers club'. The kids found out about it because one of the teens was babysitting for a family whose dad had a serious case of loose lips. Not involved, just chatty.

Any how. The word is, if you get invited to a 'spaghetti dinner', they're serving more than pasta and garlic toast.

I just remember my mom and dad coming home from a neighborhood party that in actuality was a 'key party' and her shock at the whole thing. And, my brother stating that if another guy came home with my mom, he'd be getting the Louis Slugger upside his head.

3. Series. I feel so out of the loop.

And, TM and the other SCA officers were actually accused of spreading the 'rumor' that this teacher is eating spaghetti, shall we say. How about we tell that teacher that she needs to lay off the carbs?

OMFG.

5. You switch partners
but only for " bread and salad."

You can only have your original main course.

6. Depends. Are they inviting you for the all you can eat salad or
the fettucine alfredo?'

Believe me, this is just as screwy to me as it is to you. Here's my burning question. So you go to one of these parties and then come home with someone other than your spouse. What in God's name do you do with the kids???????

7. I attended a gathering about two years ago...
for a former neighbor who had a lot of the other neighbor's keys. She was moving from Chicago to Florida. At the party, she brought out a tray of keys for those who owned them to collect. We joked about it being a sort of odd key party.

She didn't have our keys, but she really had lots of keys. The next-door neighbor had our keys.

Until I saw this thread and kinda figured it out. I wonder what was going on at all those spaghetti dinners I turned down.

16. Many, many years ago my mom and dad went to a neighborhood
party and returned pretty quickly. I was probably about 20. My mom told me it was a 'key party' and she and my dad along with another couple left.

My poor mom was horrified and my brother said years later if our mom had come home with another guy, the guy would have gotten really well acquainted with his Louisville Slugger.

My question is. What are these people doing with the children while this is going on? I don't notice a huge upsurge in babysitting requests.
