18. Total silence is an expressway to madness for me.

I use fans into the winter just for the noise, and when it gets too cold I leave a DVD playing or music or something. Doesn't have to even be loud enough to be understandable, just loud enough to stop the silence.

I also need to drown out the voices in my head.... :)

It came out in '89 and it's not the sort of thing I listen to everyday, but even though the songs are harmonically rather simple I love the way Harriet Wheeler sings.

She has a great melodic sense and a beautiful voice. Their music is "naive" in the best sense of the word, credulous and guileless.
