Songs with the word dream in the lyrics?
I'm trying to come up with some stuff I can use in my cheer mix next year.

I have the Corrs cover of Fleetwood Mac's Dreams, and I can get a pre-made mix of the Eurythmics Sweet Dreams, but I want a few more songs to mix in there. I am not that great with adding in drumbeats and runs so it has to already have a pretty bouncy beat, which probably leaves out Heart's "These Dreams". (It can be slowish, though, as long as it has a strong beat to it. I did figure out how to speed the songs up.)

5. Army (Dream Song) - Boiled in Lead
Boiled in Lead rocks - I love these guys! http://www.boiledinlead.com/

In my dream, I'm suddenly in the army
And the army life is good, but I'm ankle deep in blood
I went to see the quarter master

And the quarter master said, your socks are awful red

I found the master sergeant
I said "Sergeant, I am hurting, I'm considering deserting"
He said "Do whatever's in your conscience"
So I tried to make a run, but I was stapled to the gun

Chorus:

And the cannon were lined up all in a line
Dark and cold
They aimed them all straight upward
And thunder rolled (repeat second line of intro chords)

I went to see the first lieutenant
He said "God, they're going to bomb us, from their vicious flying llamas!"
I dove into the llama shelter
I became Charlotte Cordet, and the battle fell away

But the peace that reigned in Upper Dreamland
Was badly negated when the giant slugs invaded
I turned to face my fine young officers
I was barking out my orders, when they crashed across the borders

CHORUS twice

16. I lied, Here's another one: Peace Train by Cat Stevens
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sjSHazjrWg

Now i've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And i believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh i've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And i believe it could be, some day it's going to come

Cos out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now i've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And i believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller
Everyone jump on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cos it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train, peace train

Now i've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss

Cos out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now the peace train
Yes peace train holy roller
Everyone jump on the peace train oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on, come on, come on
Yes come on peace train
Yes it's the peace train
Oh ah ee ah oh ah
Come on now peace train
Oh peace train

18. John Lennon - Dream # 9
Edited on Thu Mar-06-08 05:46 PM by Swede
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_yZn2cHgCI

So long ago.
Was it in a dream?
Was it just a dream?
I know, yes I know.
It seemed so very real,
seemed so real to me.
Took a walk down the street.
Through the heat
whispered trees.
I thought I could hear.
Hear.
Hear.
Hear.
Somebody call out my name (John)
as it started to rain.
Two spirits dancing
so strange...
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Dream, dream away.
Magic in the air.
Was magic in the air?
I believe, yes I believe.
More I cannot say.
What more can I say?
On a river of sound.
Through the mirror go
round, round.
I thought I could feel.
Feel.
Feel.
Feel.
Music touching my soul.
Something warm, sudden cold.
The spirit dance
was unfolding...
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse
Ah! Bowakawa, pousse pousse

I know Molly Hatchet has about half a dozen versions of it- looks like I'll have to do a bit of tracking down now.

Thanks! :toast:

36. Beatles - I'm Only Sleeping
When i wake up early in the morning

Lift my head, i'm still yawning
When i'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where i am - i'm only sleeping

Everybody seems to think i'm lazy
I don't mind, i think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find there's no need (there's no need)

Please, don't spoil my day, i'm miles away
And after all i'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

Lying there and staring at the ceiling
Waiting for a sleepy feeling...

Please, don't spoil my day, i'm miles away
And after all i'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

When i wake up early in the morning
Lift my head, i'm still yawning
When i'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where i am - i'm only sleeping

42. Jugband Blues - Pink Floyd
It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here
And I'm most obliged to you for making it clear
That I'm not here.
And I never knew the moon could be so big
And I never knew the moon could be so blue
And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes
And brought me here instead dressed in red
And I'm wondering who could be writing this song.

I don't care if the sun don't shine
And I don't care if nothing is mine
And I don't care if I'm nervous with you
I'll do my loving in the winter.

And the sea isn't green
And I love the queen
And what exactly is a dream?
And what exactly is a joke?
