Took an Intro to Linux class today

and it was really fascinating. I've not known much about Linux before but I like it! And the install was a snap! Shoot, I could teach my little niece to do it.

So, I'd like to use Open Office for Windows for the time being. Is there anything I shoud know? Do you use Linux?

1. Don't use dialup to download

OpenOffice. Your kids will die of old age before you get done. Other than that OpenOffice is great.

Even with that though, it's taking 4 hours. :P Oh well.

2. I installed it on two machines

Redhat v 9.0. One machine is an old 486 and just set up as a firewall and router to share the internet connection at home.

The other machine I have 3 OSes on it. WinXP, Win 3.1, and Red Hat Linux. I was doing pretty good learning it by myself, but it was time consuming and I don't have any friends that use it, so it was tough figuring it out myself. I haven't used it now for like 5 or 6 months so I am starting to forget what I learned.

Anyways I think it is uber cool, customizable and all that. I like it, just need more time or help I guess.
