The last time I saw snow was in Oklahoma in 1989, when I was five or six. Strange stuff.

1. Add to the strange - it's almost 30 ABOV E zero here -
and average for this time of year is around 20 below! Enjoy your snow, Fenris! I'm off to the Yukon Quest tomorrow http://www.yukonquest.org/

Happy Valentine's Day!

3. Fenris, are you the guy who lives in the Woodlands?
The one that my daughter and I saw in Alden Bridge at the stop sign with the DU sticker?

I graduated from (then) Southwest Texas St. Univ. in 1977. I once lived in Retama. What dorm are you in?

5. Did you go to the Woodlands High School?
Wow, snow in San Marcos. I don't remember that.

Is Cheatem Street Warehouse still in operation? I used to spend a lot of time there.

6. Yes, I went to the Woodlands H.S.
Of which, I will speak no more, lest I offend.

The Cheatem Street Warehouse is open and draws quite a crowd.

And from what I understand, snow is rare.

7. Hey, cry me a fuggin' river.....here we've had...
...
snow 22 of the last 24 days.

right before that, it remained below zero F for more than 72 hours, most of that time is was below -10.

this is the time of year when winter turns a bit hellish.
there was a nice night to go walking in the moonlight and let the fluffy new snow crunch under your boots, thought.
