3. I had spider veins on my face removed
by laser surgery. It went well and I was pleased with the results. I hated looking like a drunk when I don't even drink.

4. If I was disfigured in an accident, yes...
Otherwise, no.
I ain't no "pretty boy" from the pages of "GQ", but I'm all me, and if I may say so, not THAT repulsive...

I look a HELL of a lot better than Richard Perle the Un-Dead....

5. I guess in this case I would but in general I just age as is?
I know a lot of people who have and seem very happy about it. Men seem to be as bad as women on this. Getting old is realy the pits I guess.

6. Same here
If I want to look better, I'll exercise more, eat better, quit smoking, engage in random acts of kindness. All things that improve your appearance without the need for sharp instruments.

7. I agree.

Even then I'd hesitate to do it because I scar easily and I'd be paranoid that something would go wrong. Besides, I'm happy with myself now and women in my family age well so I'm not afraid to get older :D.

reconstruction due to injury or disease.

The thought undergoing an absolutely unnecessary operation is stupid.

10. Depends
on how I look at a certain age and whether I have the financial means. I don't think I'd do the tummy tuck or but lift thing.

But I would say, minimize the crows feet around the eyes, maybe get the eyelids lifted. Tired-looking eyes can give you an older, more worn-out appearance.

My goal is to look as good as I can at every age.

12. Absolutely
I would never have lipo, breast reduction, or anything radical done to my body. But lasers can do wonders these days. A face lift as I get older will not be out of the question.

15. depends
It would depend on whether or not I felt that I needed it. I'm all for anything that would make you feel better about yourself. But it should be your decision and not someone else. Don't do it to keep your man(or Woman) or any society perceptions about how you should look.

16. Had it done
When I was five, I stopped the paper boy on his bike with my upper lip, giving me two of them. So all the king's horses and all the king's men put my lip back together again. Now I have a vertical scar. For years my father kept asking if I'd like to get rid of the scar. I prefer the "battle" souvenir.

18. Deviated spetum.....
...was sent to a plastic surgeon when I was in my mid-twenties because I was having severe pain in my facial sinuses.

No wonder I had been a 'mouth breather' all of my life....I had a deviated septum since birth and as I grew it affected not only the internal growth of my nose (one nasal passage completely deformed), but also the outward appearance of my nose.

So my surgery was considered 'reconstructive'.....but to bring about a symmetry to my nose...my surgeon, also, did a 'cosmetic procedure'.

Absolutely NO REGRETS.....

25. Depends on how bad I felt about something
Most scars, crows-feet, etc., don't bug me that much. If I had a serious disfigurement, or if my jowls start dangling like a turkey's wattles, maybe.

When I was younger, of course, I disliked everything about myself and wanted all manner of cosmetic surgeries. But the older I get, the more comfortable I am in my own skin, even if it is starting to wrinkle and sag. I earned these lines.

I DO, however, draw the line at greying hair!

26. I'd like to
In 1991 I was sitting at a stoplight in my old '61 Beetle when I was rear-ended by a Ford Ranger doing nearly 60MPH, and then shoved into the path of a mid-70's Ford LTD (big boatmobile), which struck me and pushed me into the path of a Ford Aerostar. Believe it or not, despite the fact that the engine now occupied the space which formerly held the back seat, despite the fact that that there wasn't three inches of straight metal left on the car, and despite the fact that I was pinned in the twisted wreckage for nearly 30 minutes, I walked away with only a few cuts & bruises and a broken nose.

To this day, the accident continues impact me in two ways. 1) I truly despise Fords. 2) I have an annoying bump where my nose broke that I'd REALLY like to get rid of! If only I could afford it :-(

I'm in my 40s. You reach an age where you get work done or you don't look as good as you could. When we have the technology to correct problems, why is it wrong to use that technology?

I think it is disrespectful to one's partner to "settle" and become "comfortable" (code word for unattractive). It will come soon enough, but I am going to fight it all the way.

30. Of course I would!
When the not-so-mythical rich uncle dies (he's only rich because he convinced my senile mother to leave her estate in trust to him), the first thing I'm going to do is get the under-eye bags and double-chin removed (every time I look at this eighteen-year-old-hippie-chick's face in the mirror, I have to exclaim "Holy Cow! Where did this fifty-five-year-old's face come from?")

On the other hand, there is NO way in hell I'd go the Bo-Tox route. "You want me to PAY you to inject the world's deadliest poison into my face to freeze my muscles so I don't look old? And you think that this is a good idea? Excuse me, but have you totally lost your marbles?"

I feel the same about most face-lifts. Looking good is one thing; that perpetually suprised expression that hollywood stars exchange for honest wrinkles is ridiculous!

32. No.
Not unless, like BiggJawn remarked, I were in some horrible accident or had a mastectomy and some reconstruction was advisable for self-esteem and socialisation.

My mother aged beautifully, and I think there's something pure and noble in the lines on the face of a woman whose life has been well-lived.

A novelty, when widespread enough, becomes the norm. I think it's outrageous to use surgery to maintain one's looks. What is wrong with aging gracefully?

36. much pointier...like this...

well, okay, not that pointy...one time for Halloween I bought a pair of quality stage glue-ons to make my ears pointy. They looked great - kinda discreet...and I figure since I've pretty much always felt a bit "different", if I ever have a couple thousand extra dollars with nothing to do with them...On the other hand, it's more likely that I will pretty much always find something better to do with a couple thousand extra bucks...
