I finally met my true love after I learned to really love myself (well, maybe not EVERYTHING about myself, but enough) and to enjoy my own company. I was 37.

I thought it was horrible, too. But now - now I'm trying to salvage what's left of my relationship with my loved one on the very dreaded day, and the psychic pain is so much worse than anything I ever felt when I was alone.

6. Buy yourself a Valentines card and treat yourself to a movie!

Or, if you have a dog or a cat, take them out for a hamburger. Get out amongst people. DO NOT BE ALONE! It'll get better and your doggy and to a lesser degree your cat will love you for it.

7. For me it was always Christmas and New Years

but, hey it's just another number on the calendar. You're young - it's not like you're past your prime or anything. Sometimes love is like Candid Camera - when you least expect it.

I met my husband by accident - literally. I hit him in the rear, proposed 3 months later and married his ass 3 months after that. I hate long engagements. That was 20 years ago. I had to make 2 concessions. 1. He isn't handy around the house and 2. He's six years younger. Yeah, I'm a cradle robber :evilgrin:

Thankfully, Valentine's Day 2004 is the best one I've had since you were in kidergarten! Yesterday, I received a wonderful gift in the mail from the new love of my life, liberalhistorian. It was a scroll in a bottle with the sweetest, most romantic message you could imagine. And she wrote it herself!

Now, if only we didn't live 555 miles apart and could have actrually been together this Valentine's Day.... Oh, well. That's coming soon enough!
