9. if you don't like it

don't use it. --not trying to be snarky, but it won't delete IE or whatever default browser you have on your computer. So try it (give it a few days so you get used to it). if you don't like it, uninstall it and go back to IE or whatever.

I find it much more...inherent...to use. does that make sense? It's got a very user-friendly interface, you can change the way the header looks (where the home page and refresh button, etc, are). You can add different toolbars. I think it has a google search toolbar already installed. YOu can make it as big or as small as you want.

It's so much nicer than IE. It also has privacy options that IE doesn't have

Install it, try it - and you can also use IE at the same time.

2. I have used it for years

I hate the very very rare website that will only load or work properly in IE. I feel dirty after using IE. To me, Firefox is so much more....easy to use.

There's tabbed browsing (the new version of IE just came out with this, but firefox has had it for years)

There are tons of add-ons--ad blocking, spam blocks, etc.

Very customizable.

I hate IE, but I loooove me some Firefox.

Plus it's free to use, and again, I think it's very user friendly.

Check it out. Again, it's love in my household. First thing I do when I start a new job is beg beg beg the IS guys to please let me put Mozilla/Firefox on my computer. They're always eager to let me do it because generally they hate IE as well :)

5. I use it

I use it on Windows XP - I think it's a lot better than explorer. I tried it out on my Mac, but didn't like the mac version, so I use Safari as my mac web browser. If you have a reasonably fast connection, you might as well try installing it and seeing what you think. I think there's a new version for mac, so maybe I'll try that out, since more websites are likely to support that than safari.

14. I like it because...

Unlike forefox, which has been ported to work on a mac, without any integration. Camino was built from the ground up as a mac only browser, written in cocoa and runs natively, unlike firefox.

but I'm not sure I can use it because of some work-related interfaces that I have to use that were designed for IE. They work pretty well on Firefox but I'm not sure they'd work on a Mac-only browser.

13. I've used it for quite a while.

It's very much superior to that "other" browser- my main source of delight is the fact that you can adjust your fonts to the size YOU want them to be instead of going by Windoze standards. (I know, there is SOME adjustability within IE, but not nearly enough.)

IE7 stole tabbed browsing from Firefox (I believe it was Firefox- could be another independent such as Opera that came up with it first) in a catch-up maneuver that doesn't impress me at all.

I install Firefox on every computer I repair and demonstrate it to my clients as an alternative if not a replacement.

when it was called Firebird. Switched because of the tabbed browsing and the fact that it was much faster an rendering pages than IE.

I still keep IE around for sites that require it, but Firefox has been my default for four years.

I love the keyboard shortcuts.
ctrl - t to open a new tab
ctrl - w to close a tab
ctrl - pgup/dn to change tabs
ctrl - +/- to change text size

And keywords that you save as a bookmark (favorite) property. My keywords are more like keyletters, they're so short: like 'd' for dictionary or 'w' for wikipedia. For example, if I want to find something on wiki, I just hit ctrl-t to open a new window. My cursor is already in the address window so I type 'w bsg' to find the wiki entry for Battlestar Galactica.

Instead of a single homepage when I launch, I have about a dozen pages that open at startup. You can also open all the tabs in a saved folder to save time.

Lots of other cool things that I'll remember as soon as I post this message.

Extensions: Image zoom is a cool extension. I use it mostly for reducing large pics in posts that force the text off the screen. AdBlock is a must have to block annoying graphics. Stumble is fun, takes you to a random website based on your preferences.

29. I much prefer it to any browser I've used before.

But make sure you back up your profile, just in case something happens. :P Thankfully it keeps your bookmarks backed up, so even when something did finally go wrong with my computer and my profile got lost (harddrive problem, not a firefox problem), I managed to at least find my bookmarks list.

Which is frikkin' huge, and would be impossible to replace.

30. I do.

Old Netscape convert here. It took years to finally break me from Netscape, but I did and I am fine with Firefox. It can be made to operate almost like Netscape did minus the built in email application. I love it. The add ons are to die for. I could spend hours just checking weather, news, and whatever else I want to with Firefox...It's nice.
