1. research the company. that way you can ask intelligent questions about operations. they love it when it shows that you took time to find out about them.
2. no perfume. some people might not like your choice.
3. some sample questions:
greatest strength; greatest weakness (as an employee)
your professional goals for next five years, ten years
describe the type of supervisor you work best with
what level of compensation are you looking for?
why are you seeking other employment? what is wrong with your current employer?
what can you bring to this organization that nobody else can bring?
describe a typical day in your former/current position
those are just a few questions off the top of my head....
other suggestions:
take notes...especially the interviewer(s) name(s). taking notes shows interest
ask questions about the organization, this is a nice way to show them that you did some research on their organization
send a thank you card immediately after the interview. thank them for their time and their consideration. tell them how much you enjoyed learning about their organization.
Relax...have fun. remember, they are trying to learn about you and you should learn about them to see if it is a nice fit. Good luck!!
