Well, at least I found my cell phone
Found it in the laundry after I opened up the washing machine. :eyes:

I'm going to let it dry out overnight and then see if it works.

Probably doesn't, but it's no big deal.

Time to get a proper pocket pouch to put it in, no more directly-in-the-pocket storage where I can lose it and then clean it. :eyes:

1. have no fear thermo
a few months ago, i dropped my cell in the toilet at work... i had to reach in with my bare hands as it went farther and farther in the hole...

it worked after 48 hours of drying out and has been fine since... i mean, i probably got some std by retrieving it, but hey, it still works :-)

2. I bought one almost 2 weeks ago because I had lost it...!
So now I have 2 cell phones. :eyes:

Of course, this phone was under water for 38 minutes.

Doubly sad, I had checked all my shirts TWICE before throwing them into the wash!!!

And the cool problem is, the newer one doesn't have the battery draining problem the old one had (and that others with my other model have) and the reception is slightly better. (both use SprintPCS)

So I'm torn, should I return it... Yes, I did spend $120, but it's a better phone despite not having the identical security features I wanted (the power-on lockout is sufficient but I miss the incoming and outgoing "restricted to phone book" feature) AND not having my favorite ringer (cutsie tone with two doves building a nest...

I have a day left to return it.

4. swallow it up
and keep it... take it as a sign that you needed a new one anyway...

my cheap ass has been debating whether or not to get one for more than a year... ((and as you see from above, i'm still using the toilet phone))

p.s. how do two doves building a nest sound? just wondering?

5. :-)
It's a cute animation, in color, that appears when I receive a call. There's this keen fluttering flute music as the doves proceed to prepare a nest. The babies are really cute too!

I don't even need an avatar to advertise how gay I obviously am when I proudly admit I liked that ringer...

8. Hmmm, I could spend the $ to get a PPG ringer...

No, I don't have a Hello Kitty ANYTHING. Cheaply drawn nonsense a 5 year old could draw.

And if you think I'm psycho, just think of the creator of Barney, the oddly shaped dinosaur and then look at Barney's odd shape a little more closely. Now THAT is scary... :scared:

3. How big are your pockets?
Must be pretty big to fit a cell phone. Damn low riders have pockets the sIze of like a quarter. Hope your cell is okay though. I have heard of several cell phones takin a spin in the wash and being functional afterwards. good luck.

6. Shirt pockets...
But sometimes I did fit the phone in a front khaki pocket. Like my ego, my pockets are huge.

Thanks on the well wishes, it would be good to have a backup phone just in case. I'm stuck with the contract for a year anyway.

The new phone is smaller though, which I've found to be really nice. (the "cleaned" phone, the Sanyo 4900, was quite bulky...)

9. I guess being
a female and keeping my cell phone in my purse is more advantageous than I'd realized.

10. If it got wet inside
It'll void your warranty. They've got a water-sensitive strip of paper inside.

Try putting it on top of a lamp. Just make sure it isn't so hot as to melt the plastic.
