The Littlest Groom
I caught a blurb on CNN about the newest reality
show, probably on Fox, that has a midget groom and
a bevy of little women. I hate reality shows for a
lot of reasons and this one is now different.

Very cute boys and girls but good grief. What's
next? Rupert Murdoch should have his citizenship
revoked and be deported for purveying porn.

1. yeah... someone also pointed out to me that they are doing
another one of those "bachelor/bachelorette" shows-- this time where she's engaged to a grossly obese man. Just what we need. More open season on degrading the fat, the stunted or dwarfed, the "ugly?"

Actually, the success of these shows only go to show who is really ugly and it is much of the American populace.

2. "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance"...
has nothing to do with "degrading the fat...the ugly"-

the guy isn't exactly "grossly obese"- he's a comedian & actor(he's the guy who gets blown into the lockers by a blow-dryer in a tv-dinner commercial).

the only people being "degraded" and shown to be assholes are the "bride's" "normal" family.

3. Fiance is not as degrading to fat people as I expected

but it does have that aspect. Randi's family tried to like Steve, and maybe they'd still like him if he hadn't behaved badly and had a weird "family," but bottom line he's overweight and not college educated. Still, I can't help but like Randi's dad. I sit there and think I'd be a completely different person if my dad had been that even-tempered and respectful of me as a person. At the same time, I sit and wonder how Steve - the real Steve, the actor - is able to do what he's doing, knowing they don't respect him in large part because of his looks. Then there's the aspect of upsetting people without their consent.

Randi's attitude bothers me more than those of her family members. Notice, though, how they don't feature the sister ... what's her name - Melanie? Judging by her facial expressions, she must have pitched a real fit.

Okay, so I've been sucked into that one. But you couldn't pay me to watch The Littlest Groom.

4. Good to know it has some redeeming value....
And am happy to "stand corrected." Is there any redeeming value to the midget (or dwarf) show?
