Area kids will get first shot to star with Depp in film

ASHEVILLE -
A boy and a girl.
That's what local casting director Marty Keener Cherrix is looking for in the upcoming Warner Bros. feature film, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," a remake of "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
Cherrix, a Canton resident who found actors for movies such as "Peter Pan," "Cider House Rules," "Chocolat" and "Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood," is looking first in Western North Carolina before she takes her search elsewhere, if necessary. She will hold auditions Saturday at the Asheville Mall.
