I've noticed a trend in movies recently where directors and sound editors will let an alarm clock or telephone ring in a movie for an inordinately long time without turning down the volume on the device after the second or third ring.
Thanks for that, asshats.

That totally pisses me off. It's a freakin' MOVIE, dammit. We're supposed to "willingly suspend disbelief," so it's not necessary to make it so "realistic" that we can't understand what the eff they're saying.
