1. Thanks
I saw this the other day, but just realized that it would make a perfect chew toy for my parents pit bull puppy. Imagine, little gnawed-upon Shrubyas, all over the yard.

4. Ugh! Ugh!
Oh, what a disgusting war. Oh, what a disgusting resident!

A friend of mine has talked about getting his son PEACEKEEPERS action figures (yes, they sell them). Then there's always the firefighter action figure, a noble choice as well.

5. Awwwww, c'mon!!!
Get it for him, and a Malibu Barbie, and watch the fun that ensues when she beats the pants off of him!!!

Seriously, though- I'm just speechless. Has the office of President of the US come to be cheesy action figure fodder? This can't be good.

9. Malibu Barbie? Maybe Malibu Ken might be interested too
i'd like to think our dolls don't have to conform to these draconian "one man one woman" relationships!

7. This is too scary....
I was watching the movie The Mortal Storm. This movie made in 1940 (which is almost two years before the US entered the war) stars Jimmy Stewart and Maureen O Sullivan (I think she's in it). It is set in 1933 Germany just as Hitler assumes power and it centers around one family who is led by a professor (remember Hitler and the Nazis loathed intellectuals just like their progeny in the Repuke party today). In one scene the family is enjoying a birthday dinner and the news comes over the radio that Hitler was now chancellor of Germany. One of the dinner guests (played by Robert Young of Father Knows Best) is overjoyed at the prospect of having Hitler as chancellor. He goes on to comment that those who are not with us are against us. Another young dinner guest also comments that Hitler will make Germany proud again and those that want peace will have it but if war is needed so be it.

The above scene could have been filmed in a number of American households in 2002 or 2003.

People who don't see the similarities between now and then are only deluding themselves. The Nazis didn't haul all the Jews and other "undesireables" to concentration camps in one day. It took legislation and constant demonization of the other for German people to accept the persecution of the Jews.

18. YES! I saw that movie...
around a year or so ago and was blown away by what I was hearing -- when I heard the "You're with us or against us" speech I almost fell off my couch.

It is really chilling to know that you are witnessing the very same type of actions that led to one of the world's most horrific episodes.
