Asshole employers taking advantage of employees during recession
Just when you think you've heard it all...a lot of employers are really enjoying the abuse and control they have over their employees now by keeping them worried about their jobs. One place I know of has the people left there doing twice the work they used to and they're not allowed to take their vacations anymore or else, "There's 200 f**king applications in my office right now".

Today my plumber told me another plumber he knows took two weeks off after his son died to bury him and to get his emotions back together, His boss fired him.

1. Completely heartless!
The story about the plumber is outrageous.

My guy doesn't have enough work to hire him on or he said would have.

Another friend of mine got fired because one day her car broke down and she waited at the garage while it got fixed and then got wrote up because she didn't take a taxi in and work the rest of the day. Then a couple of weeks later her son woke up feeling dizzy and sick and she took him to the emergency room, that time she got fired for not coming in later that day too. What it really was, a month before they had her train somebody else to help her and then that person turned around and back stabbed her by telling their boss that she could do her job by herself if they paid her a little more but less than they were paying her.

2. Some bosses just love being petty tyrants.
And this is the perfect opportunity for some of them to be just that. I hope it comes back to bite them someday. :(
