State guaranteed health insurance
Have you guys heard about this? I just heard a guy on the radio saying that states now have health insurance that we can buy into. He called it, "State guaranteed health insurance." He said it was expensive, but that it covered pre-existing conditions. I live in Ohio and I just got done digging through the State of Ohio website and I found nothing. Can you help me out on this?

2. I don't know where to find a link..
But I do know it exists, my older sister (yes the crazy one) her hubby and their child are all on MD state health insurance...And my sister has Lupus, a definite pre-existing condition.! From what I recall the cost was fairly reasonable..The problem is making sure you can find a doctor who accepts it..
Wish I could tell you more specifics...
Good to see you Droopy..its been awhile...:hi:

6. Yeah, I've been hiding out over at
www.theportalgates.net

Check it out. We need more members. I have some friends here, but it has become hard for me to post here over the last couple of months.

4. I don't know about OH.
CT has it and it's the epitome of suck. Super-expensive, not comprehensive, low life-time maximum.

What's more...all that is intentional because our republican governor (who is a recent cancer survivor on the taxpayer's dime...i.e. she got hers, fuck the plebs.) felt that if it didn't suck, people would flee private-sector insurance for the state program. So she vetoed it back to the legislature until it sucked sufficiently.

5. We have it in PA, but no one publicizes it -
they don't want to let you know it is available.
It is income regulated and costs under $300/month for 1 person - free if you meet the guidelines. (My standard Blue Cross was nearly $800/month, and no one else will insure me because I had bypass heart surgery 5 years ago.

7. I found this info.
Not sure of the accuracy. It says Ohio doesn't participate in the assigned risk health insurance pool and gives some other info there.
