8. Dodger Stadium is cool

Where at Anaheim stadium, one is kind of subjected to a "Disney" atmosphere, even though Disney no longer owns the team, Dodger Stadium is decidedly all about the baseball. They are getting ready to update the ballpark, but I believe they are not planning to change the overall layout.

9. They actualy started a fire in Chavez Ravine the day we were there

It was the 4th of July and the fireworks set a fire beyong the centerfield wall. Good times!:D

are really nice. Hands down its the most beautiful field I've been in..I imagine Coors field and Jacobs field (which are nearly identical) are the same....

on the other side of the spectrum, but still cool, Camden yards has a new scoreboard this year that shows exactly what's going on in EVERY other game. Great place to go if you have a fantasy team and want to know how your players are doing around the league.

7. Well, I don't remember everyone I've seen.

I saw the Rangers play at Tiger Stadium. I remember that because it was Nolan Ryan's 297th win. Or 298th.

I saw the Angels play at the Indians' home opener last year -- at Miller Park. See, Cleveland was buried under a couple feet of snow.

I saw the A's play at Fenway Park. I remember it was them because we were heckling Canseco from the bleachers.

I saw the Dodgers at Milwaukee County Stadium.

I've also seen games at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, Wrigley Field, and Comiskey Park.

I grew up in Southwestern Ohio, and saw a couple dozen Reds games against various opponents at Riverfront Stadium. Now I live in Milwaukee, and dolo amber and I have a season ticket 20-pack. So over the past couple of years, we've seen pretty much all the NL teams at Miller Park. Oh, and the Twins.

This summer I plan to visit the DC area and I'm going to see the Nationals, Orioles, and Phillies.

So far my favorite stadium I have been in is Chase Field.

I don't have a clue what teams I've seen, other than the obvious - Brewers, Red Sox, Yankees, and Mets.

Seems like maybe at one Yankees game they were playing the Twins, but I don't know if that's even possible.

The specific teams, wow. I'm not sure I can remember the matchups. Most involved the Tigers, the team I used to root for. I'll name the ones I'm certain of:

23. Sorry you didn't make it to Tiger Stadium. It's being torn down now.

Cobb, Greenberg, Kaline - they all played at The Corner.

So did Bobby Layne and the Lions teams 50 years ago when they were great, and my uncle took this tiny kid to see them, all bundled up, at Thanksgiving.

Comerica Park is a great stadium. But Tiger Stadium was one of THE all time great stadiums, with professional baseball played on the site since the 19th century.

I will have my memories, I guess, of Rocky Colavito and Al and Willie Horton and Denny McLain's big kick; Trammell and Whitaker at shortstop and second, and Sparky coming out as Captain Hook.

And the Bird grooming the mound, and Denny grooving fastballs to Mickey Mantle for number 500.

And Gibby winning game five and ending it with an upper deck shot in right field in 1984 off Goose Gossage.

This is not insignificant stuff of which you speak.

34. wow, you've seen some real legends

The only living soon to be legend I've seen is Randy Johnson when he was on the Yankees. Bonds will be an infamous legend and Alex Rodriguez and Albert Pujols both possible legends that i've seen.

27. I've seen every team that played

in Montreal in both Jarry Park and Olympic Stadium up to and including 1995. I've been to Exhibition Park in Toronto (haven't been to the new stadium yet), where I saw the White Sox (the Jays won 9-5 in their FIRST EVER game in April of 1977, the immortal and late Doug Ault hit two homers off of Ken Brett) Angels (the Jays lost 24-2) and Tigers (Jays lost 6-1).

I have seen the Yankees three times at Camden, one of them a 19-1 NY blowout. I have also seen the Blue Jays, Rangers and Red Sox at Camden.

Haven't seen the Nats yet. Can't bring myself to do it. :cry:

29. I've only ever been to ONE baseball game...

... a minor league game at that...

Newbridge Park - Greensboro Grasshoppers vs Asheville Tourists. The Tourists won; they scrapped the game after the 7th inning after it was clear the Grasshoppers weren't going to win (it was something like 9-2 IIRC).

Free tickets from work - in (for me) a good spot. Plus fireworks, which scared the heck out of my son. Plus he was not interested in the game at all so i spent more of the game running around the ballpark after him than watching the actual game itself.

I have watched my son at T-Ball games and my niece in coach-pitch baseball and softball.

31. Jarry Park in Montreal (I might be the only one here who has)

For a doubleheader against Philadelphia in 1975 -- which the Expos split.
Also, a doubleheader at Wrigley Field, circa 1991, against the Astros (the Cubs lost both ends -- badly).
Tiger Stadium nearly 100 times.
Comerica Park, probably 30 times now.
Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City) May 13 for my first Tiger road game ever. Detroit lost, 3-2. Also saw a game there last September (my daughter-in-law lives in KC) against the Indians.
Jacobs Field (Cleveland) last year against the Twins.
Minor League Parks: Midland, MI (Great Lakes Loons) three or four times; Lansing, MI (Lugnuts); Grand Rapids, MI (West Michigan Whitecaps); Erie, PA (Seawolves); Toledo, OH (Mudhens) five or six times, most recently June 5; Akron, OH (Aeros).
Last year was interesting -- saw the Tigers several times and also saw the Tigers' Low A, AA and AAA teams. And saw Cleveland at Cleveland, Cleveland at Detroit and Cleveland at Kansas City (and I think Cleveland won all three).

Since I'm obviously a Tiger fan first (and hardly the only one here), I'll add that my first Tiger game was June 20, 1968 against Baltimore, which Detroit lost 5-3. Dave McNally got the win for the Orioles and Denny McLain took the loss (one of only six that year, against 31 wins).

The Astrodome in the mid 70's and 80's, saw about 100 or more games there, mostly sitting in the Pavilion, $3 general admission seats in the outfield (we lived in Philly then Houston then Philly then Houston, hence the overlap)
Minute Maid Park, lots of games there, great park
Citizens Bank Park -- home of the best sandwich in the world, the Schmitter. Saw one game there, really nice stadium
McAfee Coliseum -- a real dump, but nice food and beer. Saw the A's v Yankees there a few years ago. Yankees crushed them, but I'm not a fan of either team (although I would have preferred the A's to win). I wore a shirt from Ireland, the shirt of the County Meath hurling and gaelic football teams, because it was green and yellow (like the A's). As we were going in some guy came up behind me and said 'There's no gaelic football here...' in an Irish accent. He was obviously from Ireland, it was funny. We also sat next to the equivalent of Big Jim McBob and Billy Sol Hurlock, really large California rednecks who were quite a hoot. Lots of fun there.
