I finally got to use my new grill tonight! NOM NOM NOM
I bought a new grill on Saturday, a Weber Q100 portable grill.

I'll only be at my townhouse for another four months, moving to a place that has a "plumbed in" gas grill, but I wanted to be able to grill here over what's left of the summer through October. I'll also be using the grill when camping (well, really cabining or trailering at Cedar Point), so something portable made sense. This grill uses 14.1 or 16.4 oz propane fuel canisters (found in the plumbing or camping sections of many stores), but can also use a standard 20lb tank with an adapter hose.

Kohls had the grill on sale for $109, the lowest price I've seen locally (though not as low as my friends got theirs for at a going out of business sale, I hate them!)

I got home too late on Saturday to grill. Yesterday, it rained and my brother laughed at me.

Today, I fired it up and let it pre-heat for 10 minutes. I took my seasoned strip steak (all 1 1/4" thickness of it) and laid it carefully on the cast iron grate. Sizzle! I flipped it after five minutes. No sticking, and a perfect sear on the steak. This was looking good. Another three minutes and it felt done. I removed it from the grill, put it on a clean plate, covered with foil for five minutes, and...

PERFECTION! I had a wonderful dinner, a bit beef-heavy, but I needed to do a good steak for its maiden voyage.

Next up, burgers (only because I have the meat), then it's on to some lighter fare, like grilled chicken, and then some salmon or other nice thick, hearty fish.

If anybody has a need for a portable, propane fuel, grill, this is a good, but somewhat pricey choice.

2. They also sell an optional rolling cart for it.
I tried finding it locally, but will have to order it. In the meantime, I'm just using a small metal table to hold the grill.

Even though the grill garners almost overwhelming praise on review websites, I was skeptical until I actually had the steak tonight (I've only had sausages and brats grilled on my friend's).

The Q100 is the smallest of the Weber Q grills, and also the least expensive.

To round out the grill, I bought a set of grill tools at Target, $10 clearance price (yes, it's back to school time already).

3. Nice!
I wouldn't want the cart...I'd want it to take camping...it looks the perfect height for a picnic table.

I'm gonna check out Lowes and other similar shops to see if I can find one.

Very cool! thanks for the info.

5. Camping was one of my justifications for it.
It truly is the perfect size to pack in the car, and the 16.4 oz propane canisters are available everywhere.

I haven't seen them at Lowes around here, though I have seen them at Sears for $129. You can also check for local dealers right on the weber site, http://www.weber.com , naturally!

4. Somebody had one of those at the beach last weekend.
Pretty cool, if you crave portability.

6. Portability was a moderate concern of mine, given my upcoming move
Since I'm single, I don't need a monster grill, so the size was also a consideration. I could easily have spent more on a bigger grill, but the only thing that I won't be able to do on this grill that I could on a full sized grill is beer-can chicken.
