Teachers, give me the name of some good professional development magazines.
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 05:01 PM by LostInAnomie
My corp. is paying for each teacher to subscribe to a professional development magazine, so I need the name of a few.

Preferably, related to the teaching of Social Studies, but it doesn't have to be. If it's good, it's good.

1. Here's the first one that comes to mind:
The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development

http://www.ascd.org/portal/site/ascd/index.jsp/

Check out their site and see if you think your employer will get you a membership. They would be on the top of my list for research-based instructional strategies and professional development. They are VERY well-respected in the field.

3. I like Instructor, too.
I think it's published by Scholastic. I used to have a subscription until they discontinued putting in center fold-outs of art reproductions.
