Except that he's smart enough to try to hide it by appearing to groom himself, rather than lick the air.

And we had another cat when I was a kid who did it also. We refer to it as the "licky spot." The vet said it's kind of a skin allergy, which makes that particular spot really sensitive. Riley's "licky spot" is worse in the summer for some reason. And he too can't decide whether he likes it or not. ;)
