This is my state of mind right now
http://youtube.com/watch?v=RY1Bl4nfpdA

I'm trying to tell you something about my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
And the best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously
Its only life after all
Yeah

Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear
I wrap my fear around me like a blanket
I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it
I'm crawling on your shores

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
And the less I seek my source for some definitive
(the less I seek my source)
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

And I went to see the doctor of philosophy
With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee
He never did marry or see a b-grade movie
He graded my performance, he said he could see through me
I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind
Got my paper and I was free

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
(the less I seek my source)
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

I stopped by the bar at 3 a.m.
To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend
And I woke up with a headache like my head against a board
Twice as cloudy as I'd been the night before
And I went in seeking clarity.

I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains
I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains
Yeah we go to the doctor, we go to the mountains
We look to the children, we drink from the fountains
Yeah we go to the bible, we go through the workout
We read up on revival and we stand up for the lookout
There's more than one answer to these questions
Pointing me in a crooked line
The less I seek my source for some definitive
(the less I seek my source)
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine
The closer I am to fine

13. The less you seek your source for some definitive
the closer you are to fine...

so true...

I think we fuck ourselves up by trying to find "the answer", fact is there are many answers.... many universes, and many chances to change course.

17. I got thrown into it today.
I was accused of lying to my employer and lost my job.

I did NOT lie.

But I was not even given a chance.

I was given a choice: resign or be terminated.

I have never faced such a situation.

I have a lot of professional integrity, but they decided I said something I did not say, and it just tore me apart.

20. I got gob-smacked but good.
I tried talking till I was blue in the face, but it did absolutely no good.

They are convinced I lied about two different things.

One thing, I proved I did not lie about, and sent the evidence to them tonight.

The other thing, I have no proof in black and white, other than my resume and application, which does NOT contain the information they claimed I lied about (they swear I told them I had sat for a national certification in my field, which I didn't, and did not state anywhere in writing).

But they say they both heard me say that I had sat for the exam. What I said was that I HADN'T, but that I WOULD be.

Doesn't matter.

They believe what they believe.

Oh, and they have no proof in black and white either.

Only what they say.

I am still in shock over what happened.

I do NOT lie in interviews. I do NOT lie on my resume. I do NOT lie in an application.

24. Aw, Peggy, thank you.
I am still in shock over the whole thing.

I cannot believe that my professional integrity was tossed out the window like that.

I have always prided myself on it.

Apparently it means nothing.
