Random Kitteh question... can cats have yogurt?

My little fur ball - ok he is 9 yrs old and 11 pounds



I just snarfed down a yogurt and as usual I let him have a spoonful - then it occured to me...man I hope its ok for him

I know... no vets here just a wondering

1. My sister gives plain vanilla yogurt to her cat as a treat often

2. Many cats can't digest milk products

So a vet would tell you not to feed yogurt to a cat.

However, I've had cats who were not lactose intolerant, and when my vet knew that, she was okay with that particular cat had very occasional, small amounts of milk as a treat.

3. I heard it's okay

Purina One makes a cat food with yogurt in it.
The bacteria in the yogurt is probably good for the cat's digestion.

4. I've always fed my cats yogurt

Most of them love it. The bacteria is good for their tummies.
