Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 10:49 PM by yourout
almost into on coming traffic.

Returning from Six Flags Great America on 18-151 with the whole family including the dogs and was passing a work truck towing a trailer that was in the slow lane who suddenly swerved across my lane forcing me to do a Dukes of Hazzard jump across the median. I am still amazed we did not flip over. Who ever was driving the truck gets a big "Fuck you very much" for damn near killing my whole family and not bothering to stop.

1. I'm glad you and your family are ok.
That had to be really frightening.

3. No turn signal, no nothing.....he just yanked the wheel into my lane. Scared the hell out of me.
Still half shaking. Jumping a ditch at 65 miles and hour towards oncoming traffic will get the heart going.

2. Yikes! So glad you and your family (and pups!) are OK
How terrifying. My husband and I were in a bad car crash about 6 weeks ago - someone also driving with their head up their ass ran a red light going about 60 and totaled our car. It is a really, really frightening experience.

I saw a similar work truck move over directly into a motorcycle; the guy fell and skidded but was OK (shaken up , but OK). And as in your situation, the driver of the truck didn't even stop.

Hugs to you and your family!

8. Sounds like a chilling end to what must have been a fun day...
When I was a kid something similar happened while we were on vacation. My dad was passing a car on a 2-lane road, and he decided to play games with us. He wouldn't let us pass, and he wouldn't let my dad slow down to pull behind him...not even when another car appeared on the other side of the road! My dad pulled over to the opposite shoulder and just waited awhile before he started the car again. I'm glad he did...They didn't call it "road rage" back then, but I know he was tempted to follow the son of a bitch.

I'm glad you and your family are ok. Hope you had a lovely time otherwise.:hug::hug:

10. done that
I was in the back seat of a car on I-5 that went out of control when the left wheel hit some gravel. We crossed the median against oncoming traffic, hit the retaining wall and rolled over it and down into a ditch. Two little kids in the car, no seat belts. (It was a long time ago.) No one was hurt aside from one little head bump on the window. A state patrolman was on us before the car settled in the dirt -- he had seen it happen and I'm sure he expected injuries.

Some days ya gotta just marvel at unexpected miracles. Glad you are okay.

12. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people?
It's like we should all have to take a drivers test again every two years. This morning I witnessed a horrific, three-car accident right next to me. The highway is under construction, and there is this radical merge where three lanes of the freeway are trying to cross merge each other. Every fucking morning there's accident, (multiple accidents). So these morons come screaming at the merge about 70mph, the traffic makes an abrupt stop as miss princess is fucking around with her cell-phone. BLAM! I see pieces of car flying across my hood into the lanes of traffic I'm sitting in. Fortunately there was a concrete barrier between me and the accident or I would have been smashed too. One driver got fucked up pretty bad, but I had to move my car and I didn't stick around too long. I hate driving anymore, but I doesn't seem like we have much choice.

13. That happened to me on I-65 from Indy to Chicago once
I was able to slow down enough that they didn't hit me.

I tailed them and called the state police at the same time. They looked scared that I was on the phone. I don't know if they were ever caught, because they were driving over 100 MPH and I lost them.

Glad you're O. K.! :hi:
