Superhero/Comic Book films you'd like to see.
There's a lot of stuff currently in development (like Avengers, Justice League and the now-dormant Wonder Woman project). Which superhero or comic book character would you most like to see represented on the big screen?

4. I'm still waiting for my buddy Jeff Smith to get his
"Bone" trilogy made. Maybe the deal with Warner's will happen, maybe not...

5. I'm waiting anxously for Watchmen.
Truly. All other graphic-novel movies will be a joke after that.

13. Me too. It's THE movie event for me next year.
Me too. It's THE movie event for me next year. I've been following its progress since last year, and the stills I've seen (plus the recently available trailer) has me hoping for great things.

On the other hand, I was hoping for great things from V for Vendetta, and the movie simply did not live up to either the comic book or my own expectations.

But yeah-- the Watchmen. Can't wait...

17. I was reading an article on it yesterday...

in EW. (a magazine that lives up to it's name usually)

Apparently, Zack Snyder, the director, sent the studio a 3-hour film which is extremely-true to the graphic novel...they told him to cut it to closer to 2:30 and he responded that he was afraid he'd never be able to sleep again for fear of what the fans might do to him. That he'd have to spend the rest of his career making romantic comedies. He initially turned-down the film because he was afraid he'd make a film which couldn't live up to the book, ultimately he accepted because he was more afraid that someone who wasn't a fan would make an even worse movie. It sounds like he realizes that he can't fuck this up.

6. Gargoyle
He's a second-tier Marvel character. An elderly guy who made an ill-considered business deal with the local satanic cult and found his soul in the body of a, well, a gargoyle.

7. Sandman

I think they might be doing a Sandman one, though.

There's this other character, I can't for the life of me remember the name. It was a giant purple guy, it was called The _______ (something), and there was a girl who was a social worker who would visit him in the abandoned building where he lived. I thought for sure it aired as an animated serial on Liquid Television in addition to being a comic book, but I can't find in on the Liquid Television Wiki. It was a great comic.

EDITED TO ADD: found it. He was called The Maxx. I loved the artwork in that book.

It was its own series IIRC. That show was messed up.

15. It was. The book was even better, and more messed up.
Really well-written and Top 5 of my favorite drawing ever in a comic book. The artwork was really stunning.

16. Darkseid
The hero of the story is irreleveant to me. But Darkseid needs to be there and be big, scary, and close to invincible.

I still get chills reading "The Great Darkness Saga" in The Legion of Super Heroes.
