Do you tend to ramble when leaving a voicemail?
I sure do. I just left a voicemail to a co-worker...and I went on and on, instead of just getting to the point as to why I called. I do this all the time...I leave a lot of "ums" and "ers" when I leave a voicemail. This technology...be it voicemail or answering machines...have been around for years. And yet I still act like it's brand new or something.

1. God yes.

Not only that, but if I get a rambling message from someone else, I find myself responding to them as if they're actually on the line. That can be embarrassing.

3. I almost never leave voicemail to begin with
the only way I do is if I'm calling some kind of business, or if I'm not calling a cell phone. If I call someone's cell phone I figure they will see the missed call and get back to me.

5. No. I write brief not to myself, and practice it in my head at least once before
recording. That way there are no 'ums', 'ers' -and I get right to the point. Of course, it took years of leaving sloppy messages to finally get into this habit.

7. I tend to ramble no matter what.
Which is why I'll often purposely just be straight and to the point. Like last night I called a friend who I often hang out with, but who I hadn't been able to this weekend, and just said, "So... booooored..." :P

8. Nope. I leave my name, number, what I called about and "bye".
I don't like voicemail, so I make it as brief as possible.

10. I always thought voice mail was just to let someone know you called...
Not to discuss at length what you called about.

My outgoing message says "please leave a BRIEF message and I'll call you back."
