but today, I (and my family) could really use more.

A close family friend passed away from cancer late last night. I know everyone speaks well of the dead, but Dory really was one of the kindest, sweetest, most loving people I've ever met. She was an artist, who mostly worked with textiles, and a great performer.

I know this isn't the most eloquent of ways to talk about her - I'm kind of in shock. Even though she's been sick for awhile, I never thought the cancer would win. I thought she was stronger than it. :cry:

Anyway, if you could spare some good vibes, for my grandmother, who has known her for decades, and for Dory's husband, I would really appreciate it. I'm not going to be on for a little bit, but I'll check in later.

Cancer strikes so many families and so many extended families. There are just no words. One of my childhood friends just died this week from ovarian cancer. She was only 46.
