I'm excited, scared, hopeful, fearful, anxious, and about a million other things.

My son is at Grandma's for a couple hours so I thought I'd drop by.

I can cook, but I'm really hopeless with dough. Seriously. :shrug:

What would you like to know? Do you want step-by-step recipes, or just a recipe for homemade pie crust? If you don't want to mess with making the crust from scratch, you can always get the premade pie crust dough that Pillsbury makes. It's pretty good. Cream pies and custard-like pies (like key lime) are really easy, because I use graham cracker crusts for those.

14. I went through West Virginia once, driving my grandmother home to NC.

What impressed me and stuck in my mind was that we saw actual buffaloes. I've never seen them before or since. We're in NY... :-)

And I'm willing to take the help from the store, as Rachael Ray says, when I can, but I'm just not good at crusts. I have made the cream pies, lemon and chocolate, since my late father liked them, but am not cooking these days, with no one to cook for, but appreciate the suggestion. I'll miss cooking for the holidays, something I looked forward to, but I never tried pies. I made apple crumbles... :-(

15. Trader Joe's can help you...

...if you have a store nearby. Their pie dough is a good backup if you don't have time to make scratch or don't have good results. It comes frozen; two generous circles of dough.
