Good ways to stay positive about the election? Post yours here!
Over the last 2 weeks I have had to "talk down" nervous friends and colleagues about the election. They are all worried, and I give em my view about some ways to feel positive about things, such as keeping busy, looking at all the great things the campaign is doing and how organized they are, sending money, getting involved by canvassing, GOTV activities or phone calling if you can, and being cautiously optimistic. For me, I always feel less nervous when I'm involved with the campaign in some small way, be it donating, canvassing or phone banking.

I know we have been "burned" before, but somehow I think it's more useful to fight the good fight and keep a positive attitude, no matter what the polls say (even if they are really good), and no matter what McCain and Palin keep saying.

To me that's what "the audacity of hope" really means. It has been wonderful to see so many people I encountered while door-knocking tell me how good they felt about Obama. Hope for the best, work hard and envision a good outcome!

5. One great silver lining,
no matter the outcome of the election: Even if the worst happens and the ReThuglicans either steal the election or god forbid, win, -we've seen the last of George Dubya Bush as president. I truly do not want McCain as president and Sarah Palin frightens me. But even they would look less objectionable in comparison to Bush.
