My cat no longer sleeps with me on my bed
She's about 7 years old and had slept with me since day 1. I can't figure out why this is. Any ideas? Maybe she's outgrown me. :(

1. Maybe the thrill is gone...sigh
Our cats definitely alternate their favorite places. They'll all sleep on the bed for days, then move to the cat bed, then move to the living room floor. I can never keep track of them. Just when I get used to them being in a new place they change it up on me.

2. When one of my cats isn't feeling well, he goes away until he feels better...
he sleeps under the futon in the office. I'm not sure why, but sometimes cats like to be alone when they are under the weather. Does your cat seem normal other than the sleeping thing?

5. She has a skin condition which had been controlled with steroid injections.
My vet decided to try an antihistamine to get it under control this time, since I said I was worried about ongoing use of the steroid. But I'm not having much luck getting her to swallow the pill. Need to check if it's available as a liquid. Or maybe just go back to the steroid injection?

12. Try an external treatment.
Please deal with the skin problem differently. Drugs and steroids are horrible medicine for people. Don’t subject the kitteh to this medical short-cut.

It may take some time and effort, but it is worth it. Get a comb and maybe make a change of diet.

13. I brush her with a furrilator once a week or so.
Are you mostly concerned about the steroid injection? The vet assured me that the antihistamine was a very benign drug. I'll talk to him about the possibility of diet being a cause of this, though he had not suggested it the last time we were in.

15. I just didn't want you to go back to the steroids
Steroids are strong medicine and can cause diabetes in cats. Antihistamines usually do come in liquid form and are as you said, fairly benign.

Try using a flea comb on your fur baby. Look for and remove the cause of the skin problem. Unless you know that the skin condition is genetic, there are less drastic things than medication that you can do. That is all I was saying.

19. try a little pill dispenser-
I have seven cats and this works for ALL of them, even the ones who are tough to medicate. Good luck!

6. My pup slept with me for years, and then quit.
I guess he decided he was a big boy and didn't need to cuddle with mama anymore. :( He still sleeps on the floor next to the bed though.

Exception is if I am sick, or really depressed. He seems to know and sleeps with me during those times. He's so sweet like that.

18. She told one of my cats that you snore.
:P

All joking aside, Sunday Girl used to be my constant companion for 10+ years. My aunt has MS and her mobility has been going downhill for a while now. Sunday Girl sleeps with her and helps her out now during the times when I need rest.

No kidding, my aunt actually asked Sunday Girl to sit on her left leg the other day when she had a cramp in her leg. Sunday Girl went down there and got on her right leg. My aunt told her the other leg, and she moved. She did exactly what my aunt asked her to do. It worked too.

If either I or my aunt sneezes, Sunday Girl will meow a certain way to say "Bless You."

If I take a few minutes getting in there when my aunt calls, Sunday Girl will hop on the bed and start walking around and around my aunt trying to help her until I get there. My aunt will tell Sunday Girl to come get me when I have the fan on and the phone is charging (happens every once in a while). Most of the time, Sunday Girl will come get me. The funny thing is sometimes she will come in my room quietly and go to sleep too. So, it's a mixed bag. My cats have the same kind of sense of humor I do.

In any case, I'm glad she's so helpful to my aunt. It perks my aunt up to have that kind of sweet help.
