3. Do people who love Gary Busey
love Gary Busey because he's Gary Busey, or do they love him because he's a walking train wreck of a human being?

4. It has to be both.

But instead of 'train wreck' I'd say he's entertainingly odd.

11. It's on the Tru channel
The Smoking Gun Presents:
The World's Dumbest Criminals
The World's Dumbest Competitions

etc., in that vein - kinda funny.

8. Your mileage may vary, of course,
To my thinking, being a 'born-again' Fundie, a Promise-Keeper, having been accused by several witnesses of having beaten his second wife, his drug abuse and his traumatic head injury all qualify as sad, in places pathetic, but not really entertainment.

10. I didn't know all that about his personal life.
I tend to avoid that kind of 'news'. To me he's just a wacky guy who says wacky stuff on camera.

14. I believe his Fundyism
is a result of Rehab.

Many "rehab" facilities have been co-opted by evangelicals. He, and many other tortured souls seeking help, have switched addictions from drugs/alcohol to "Jonesed on Jesus".

It's one of their little known projects, but as dear to them as abortion-interdiction phone centers masquerading as "Help Lines".

Born-Again Drunks are *fanatic* believers; they cling to their new addiction with *all* the fervor of the old.

9. I love him for the talent he had
and take no pleasure in his in(s)ane behavior. I hope someday he can find a solution to his troubles and even out his life.

Foolin' Around and The Buddy Holly Story were great works.

And then there's always Teddy Jack Eddy
