1. My dear UndertheOcean...
Hey it's a nice photo...

But there's only one!

Or are you not done uploading yet?

Wonder how the nest got into the middle of the path...Did it fall? Or was it built there deliberately?

9. It is best to visit in winter
if one does not want to be carried off by mosquitos, deer flies, and no-see-ums.

I though Flamingo was a TOWN , with a motel or two at least , so I did not bring with me camping equipment and we had to sleep in the car ! talk about poor planning

14. Flamingo you mean, right? Lol.
There was a great lodge there for years, but it was destroyed in Wilma. There was a store and a marina.

Not sure what is there now, though I know they are planning to rebuild.

Now I wanna go back there soon.x(

5. These are lovely!
And sometimes the auto-focus won't work too well when there's nothing really solid to focus on.

When that happens, you could point the camera at one thing that it can focus on, and then move to include everything else...

Such serene, lovely pics!

Thank you, my dear UndertheOcean...

I've got a great gator pic from the 'Glades.

Used to camp there a bunch. Were you in the National Park?

13. It is really cool to go there at night with a flashlight and
just shine it around. The gators' eyes glow ruby red and it's startling how many you'll see.

The one time I saw a pair behind me, I sprinted for the car pdq, lol.

It is so dark in the Everglades at night.

We went canoeing there a lot (not at night) and the gators just cruise right by and under you. Quite an experience.

Love your pics!

15. What gorgeous pictures! It is lovely there...and I am sure it must be
pretty hard to take in the summer.. I worked in New Orleans for a while...:wow:

The nest in the middle of the trail is fascinating. I would think that the birds would have looked for more cover...or in a tree to be safe.

24. I love the Everglades. It's probably about as close as we'll get to
seeing/feeling what it was like in the dinosaur days.

25. We lived in Homestead/Florida city
Went to the everglades national park as often as possible as soon as mosquito season ended (november-ish)

Saw some of the most amazing wildlife there.
