I like the guy. His advice takes on a no bullshit approach, he's not overly condescending and doesn't seem to be pushing any type of agenda.

I think he IS condescending. I think he's rude and hurtful.

I also think he sold out when he started selling diet supplements and such.

To be honest, I've never watched his show nor have I seen him on anything other than the occasional Leno/Letterman appearance. But from what I've seen, I wouldn't want him talking to me about my weight loss. I think I could tell him a thing or two.

I consider him the "flavor of the month" in tv psychologists.

I've only got an occasional glimpse since I watch TV so infrequently, but he seems to have the "look" in his eyes that many fundies have.

13. Think he's kind of a jerk

He went to my high school. Apparently the class after us asked him to come and speak and he flat out refused. What a jerk. We got a different jerk instead. Richard Myers - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. So you learned something new today - both Richard Myers and Dr. Phil went to my old high school. Awesome.
