That was a nice tribute to Katharine Hepburn....
...I'm glad they do something separate for her--the last legend Hollywood knew.

1. She was also
in addition to being an incredible actress and total icon, she was an atheist. Something that tends to be omitted when tributes are done.

2. Well, they were talking about her acting now, for the most part...
...she was also big on birth control--her mother was, and that was way back when!

3. Why brag about lack of faith?
It's hard to apply tribute to one who has only faith in the millions they garner from hollywood.

4. Oh, come on....
...just because someone is a non-believer doesn't mean they're a greedy so-and-so. Open your mind a little.

5. BTW - the music they played at the very end (over the scene
from On Golden Pond) was the very end of Wagner's Götterdämmerung, ie: Twilight of the Gods.

Fonda & Hepburn - two gods.

gone.

7. She rocks - sexy, intelligent, talented,
and timeless. Where have all the truly beautiful people gone anyhow?

8. Well, they ain't sittin' in the audience tonight!
Hollywood really isn't glamorous anymore, or mysterious.

10. They broke the mold.
There will never be another Katharine Hepburn. She was a Lengend and a woman who walked the walked. She could do it all. Comedian, Drama. When she enters a scene, You know its going to be a good one. One of the Greatest Actors of all time.

"Acting is the most minor of gifts and not a very high-class way to earn a living. After all, Shirley Temple could do it at the age of four." - Katharine Hepburn

11. Yup--what's amazing about her is to watch one of her early movies, and
watch another actress in the same movie, or a different movie from the same time, and her acting was so much more natural and believable. Up until that point, movie acting was really quite stage-y--she was a pioneer in modern acting.
