Don't touch me because I will shock you
Seriously

I'm freaking filled with static electricity. At the pet store today I picked up something off of the metallic counter and I had the worse shock imaginable. My cat I think is afraid of that first touch because I've shocked him enough times.

How the hell do I get this static out of me??

1. Get some humidity in your home...at least 40% in the winter.
Dry air causes the static. If you don't have a whole house humidier....try towels, pails of water, etc.

Your cat will love you for it.

2. Humidifiers
my cats were getting shocked all over the place. I have a humidifier in the bedroom and living room. It makes a huge difference-and my hair isn't flying all over the place.

3. Keep touching things.
That way you discharge the static you keep building up in small doses, instead of one big one. When I worked in a department store, we ladies on the floor would touch every fixture along the way across the floor. If we didn't we got one HUGE shock when we got to the back room door.

What are you wearing anyway, all wool?
