Poll question: Have you ever had a thread go dreadfully wrong?

Or in other words, have you ever posted a thread on a given subject with a certain sentiment in mind, only to have its intent COMPLETELY misinterpreted, particularly by activists in the subject you've posted on? Have you ever ended up in a hopeless flamefest where you got pummeled for your lack of PC sensitivity?

Not really soliciting specific examples, and I deliberately avoid specific mention of any threads that have gone this way for me, but I'm wondering if it's happened to you and how you handled it.

Last night, after the moderators locked your thread, you went and posted another one. Bad idea. Now you're re-hashing this thing again.

The moderators and I have tried very hard to be fair, and to give you the benefit of the doubt. It becomes increasingly difficult for us to do so when you post threads like this.

I'm the only person standing between you and bansville. You should be making my job easier, not harder. In fact, it might be too late already.
